Where people go wrong
- Using the number of courses instead of credits, which throws off the weighting.
- Entering a 5.0-scale GPA as if it were 4.0.
- Retake and grade-replacement rules vary by school; do not simply average them.
FAQ
How do retakes count?
Check your school policy: some replace the old grade, some average both. If replaced, count only the new grade.
What is the difference between cumulative and term GPA?
Term GPA covers one term; cumulative GPA is the credit-weighted average across all terms.
